Child Care Centers (CCC) are licensed by New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) through the Spring Valley Regional Office to care for children in a facility (non personal residence).
- The number of children they are allowed is dependent on the size of the facility.
- They are required to maintain at least the minimum staff to child ratio for each age group.
- An indicator of quality child care would be to have a smaller adult to child ratio than required by the state.
- Child Care Centers may be accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
